Councilman Bobby Henon introduced two resolutions praising the incredible contributions of young 6th District residents.
Councilman Henon recognized the quick-thinking and bravery of two Father Judge High School students, senior Jack Flynn and freshman Dylan Feby, who assisted an injured man until an ambulance was able to arrive. On their bus ride home from school on February 7, a man ran into their SEPTA bus and was bleeding from his wrist and neck. Jack and Dylan jumped into action, using their school sweaters to help stop the bleeding and waiting with the man until an ambulance arrived.
He celebrated the girls of St. Hubert High School Cheerleading Team for winning their division of the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida. The team, which competes in the large varsity division (20 or more squad members), spent countless hours practicing its two-in-a-half minute routine that features dance, tumbling, stunts and more. The team is coached by Lisa McNesby, and she is assisted by Paul Ballentine, Mary Kate McKnight, and Kristen Mahon.
Councilman Henon also introduced a resolution recognizing the Grand Marshall of the 2017 Philadelphia Saint Patrick's Day Parade, Barney Boyce. The parade, which will be held on Sunday, March 12th, will feature a new route this year. Its theme is "St. Patrick, protect and guide our police officers".
