In keeping with his pledge to improve the quality of life for constituents in the 6th District, Councilman Henon pursued a measure in City Council to allow for earlier trash set out times to 5:00 across the City.
The bill was originally meant to give senior citizens a chance to get their trash out while it was still light out to help keep them safe. It later evolved to cover all City residents - but only until April, when trash set out times revert to 7:00 p.m. Some frequently asked questions include:
Is my set out location changing?
No, the set out location is not changing. Trash and recycling should be placed at your regular scheduled collection site.
Is my trash day changing?
No, your trash day is not changing. Only the time to set out your collections is changing.
Who can I call for more information?
Constituents who have questions may contact the Streets Department’s Customer Affairs Unit at 215-686-5560 or Councilman Henon’s office at 215-686-3444. For all City services, residents should contact 3-1-1.
