In case you missed the large blue and yellow sign that was recently posted at the front-right corner of the Bridesburg RecreationCenter: Security cameras will soon be installed at the site.
The cameras are part of a two-phase, $300,000 renovation project backed by Councilman Bobby Henon, in partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Approximately two dozen cameras will be placed in both interior and exterior locations on the building at 4625 Richmond St.
The Department of Parks and Recreation and the recreation center leader were consulted regarding the location of the cameras.
The installation process is currently underway and should be finished by the summer, according to staff at Bridesburg Recreation Center.
The purpose of installing the cameras is to help monitor the space and deter any illegal activity that may occur when recreation staff is not present and give peace of mind to the community, according to Eric Horvath, director of communications for Henon’s office.
