A special message from Councilman Bobby Henon:
"City of Elderly Love is one of my favorite animal rescue organizations. Not only does it help alleviate some of the over crowding at ACCT, it focuses its time, attention and love on senior pets. As you know, senior pets are the least likely to be adopted from our shelters. But I believe that they have so much love to give, and in many cases, years of healthy life left to live.
In an effort to support the work of City of Elderly Love, I am proud to announce that I will be funding an on-going scholarship for a senior dog who needs a second chance.
Our first scholarship was awarded to Aries, a good looking, purebred Rottweiler. She is a refined lady who likes leisurely walks, long naps and turkey. Lots of turkey. Sure, she's can slobber a bit, but at approximately 10 years of age, she has a great demeanor and class. Plus, she's a rottie who gets along with other low key dogs and cats!
The scholarship covered the cost of the medical care she needed to get a fresh start. And now, she's ready to go to a new home!
You can learn more about Aries by visiting www.cityofelderlylove.org.
Help me spread the word about Aries and City of Elderly Love. And remember to support organizations like the City of Elderly Love and the Animal Care and Control Team. They are working hard to save the lives of animals in need and they need your help."
